The Bureau of Land Management, with the help of the National Park Service, the Old Spanish Trail Association and its chapters, other groups, local and state communities agencies and personnel, is developing Recreation & Development Strategies within the trail’s six state area.

These plans can help guide decision makers in bringing the Old\ Spanish National Historic Trail to life, to become valuable educational and recreational assets for residents and visitors alike. They are guiding documents – with no commitments or decisions – for future efforts to mark, improve, interpret and utilize the trail.

To date, four of these impressive plans are finalized and several more are in the conceptual or draft phase. We will post each one as it is finalized. Just click on the cover image to open the pdfs (large files).
