Old Spanish Trail Agency Partners

Our Agency Trail Partners

The National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management jointly administer the Historic Trail. The Old Spanish Trail Association (OSTA) has the honor of being the primary non-federal partner in development and interpretation of this Historic Trail.

The National Trails System is the network of scenic, historic, and recreation trails created by the National Trails System Act of 1968. These trails provide for outdoor recreation needs, promote the enjoyment, appreciation, and preservation of open-air, outdoor areas and historic resources, and encourage public access and involvement.

Partnership for the National Trails System

The Old Spanish Trail Association is also a proud member of The Partnership for the National Trails System. This national partnership, established in 1995, facilitates interaction and cooperation among the various private groups and government agencies across the country who are involved with the national scenic and historic trails of the National Trails System.
